The Power of Affirmations
The Power of Your Words
Pause. Embrace a moment of stillness. Tune in to the distinctive inner voice echoing these words. Is it resonant or hushed? How frequently does this inner voice make itself known? Does it extend kindness to you? Does it speak benevolently of others?
Recent research suggests that the average human entertains approximately 6,000 thoughts each day (source: newsweek.com). This implies that everyone inhabits a unique realm of thoughts ebbing and flowing, shaped by their perceptions of the world and past experiences.
Thoughts, akin to electrochemical waves, course through and around you, generating a distinctive frequency. Have you ever entered a room and sensed its vibes? Encountered someone and immediately felt a warm openness? What you're sensing is their frequency. Thoughts carry a vibration associated with a specific frequency, lingering around you and influencing the attraction and repulsion of things, people, and circumstances.
The frequency of your thoughts is palpable to others. Constantly negative or judgmental thoughts emit a discernible vibe, just as optimistic and positive thoughts radiate their own energy. Your mental frequency acts like a magnet, drawing in elements aligned with your prevailing thoughts. Negative thoughts attract undesired outcomes, while positive thoughts draw in the things you desire.
So, what's the takeaway? It underscores the significance of your internal dialogue—how you think about yourself and others. Yet, with 6,000 thoughts coursing through your mind daily, it can be challenging to stay conscious of each one.
Enter affirmations—a powerful tool. Affirmations are positive, uplifting words or phrases repeated mentally or vocally. They have the capacity to reshape the subconscious, fostering a pattern of unconscious positive thinking and a brighter outlook on life. Practicing affirmations can ultimately shift your vibration and frequency, magnetizing positive people, opportunities, and experiences into your life.
How to Craft Affirmations
Before crafting affirmations, take three days to observe your thoughts. During this period, practice non-reactive observation. Allow thoughts to pass like clouds or those distant planes carrying messages seen at the beach. During the three days of observation, write down any recurring thoughts deemed good or bad. This mindful awareness lays the foundation for crafting affirmations that align with your desired positive mindset. After you have observed your thoughts for three days, notice if they are positive or negative. If they uplift you or pull you down. Write down all of the negative thoughts and put those to the side. You will come back to those.
Now, take a moment to envision who you want to be, how you want to feel, how you want to be treated, and how you want to be viewed. How does this version of you act? How does this version of you talk? What do you think of this version of yourself?
Now write down phrases and words to uplift this version of yourself. Write down words and phrases that this version of you would say. Write down 5 in total. Now take the list of negative thoughts and condense them into a list of five or three. Now, let's turn that frown upside down shall we!
Transforming Negativity into Positivity
Take those negative thoughts captive and transmute them into positive affirmations. For instance, if you catch yourself thinking, "I am not worthy of success," reframe it as, "I am worthy of success." Repeat this process for all your negative thoughts.
After flipping the script, amalgamate your five original affirmations with the newly crafted positive ones. Write them down on the same piece of paper, aiming for a total of 8-10 affirmations. Strive for a manageable number to ensure you can easily recall and integrate them into your daily routine.
Putting Your Affirmations into Action
Now that you've tailored your affirmations, schedule dedicated moments to recite them—both upon rising and before resting. Set reminders to foster consistency in this practice. When negative thoughts resurface, use your affirmations as a powerful antidote. Confront challenging situations with the awareness that your thoughts can reshape your perception, and reinforce your mindset by reciting your affirmations. Express gratitude by reciting them in moments of appreciation. Repeat your affirmations frequently to carve these positive beliefs into your subconscious, gradually transforming into the person you aspire to be.
Before you know it, those 6,000 daily thoughts flowing in and out of your mind will evolve into vibrant hues of love, light, gratitude, and uplifting vibrations, reshaping your mental landscape.
